DAY 1: IMLIL TREK TO TOUBKAL REFUGE THROUGH AREMD AND THE MIZANE VALLEY
We plan Marrakech Atlas trekking to Toubkal starting at 8 a.m. and driving south through gorges and high passes of the upper valleys to the Berber settlement of Imlil. The company will disembark from the truck and have a refreshing drink of mint tea in the gite d'etape. Then, go on a 4-kilometer hike to the Berber towns of Aremd Taourirt and Targa Imoula. Stop at the Assif Ait Maizane Valley to observe a unique village constructed seemingly home upon house on a raging moraine spur. Continue on to the equally charming settlement of Sidi Chamharouch, a Berber village situated next to a waterfall and a tiny stream. Stop for a picnic in full view of the towering Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in the Maghreb at 4167m. The final leg of the journey will take you to your overnight lodging.
DAY 2: TREK TO JEBEL TOUBKAL'S SUMMIT (4165M); RETURN TO IMLIL
An early start will get you to the top of North Africa's tallest peak. The top offers an unrivaled perspective of the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and the habitats that have surrounded them for generations. Then, for lunch, descend to the refuge. The day consists of around 8 hours of walking and concludes at Imlil, followed by the journey to Marrakech. Thank you for joining us on a guided Marrakech to Toubkal trekking with an experienced travel company. At the end of the journey, we will drive you to your hotel in Imlil, Marrakech, or to the airport, and our Morocco Atlas hike will come to an end.
